Bring Back The Touch

Little Manu ran out to the porch in a sincere effort to deafen himself from the screams of his parents.. Radha and Raghav had been married for 15 years now and their thirteen year old son felt they were no more in love like the couples he saw in movies. The screaming and fighting had become a routine in the morning hours now. It was the summer holidays and Manu was home. He could not escape from being an audience to this scene everyday now. He tightly shut his ears and eyes not knowing what to do .. Suddenly he remembered Priya Athai (meaning aunty). Priya was Raghav's sister and had narrated a lot of fun and love stories about Manu's parents to him before.

Manu sneaked out Raghav's mobile and dialled Priya. He explained the situation at home sobbing and asking Priya if those stories he told her were ever true ...Priya promised to set things right.

It was Radha and Raghav's 16th year wedding anniversary that day. Manu and Priya were ready to execute their plan.

Manu went to Radha's bedroom first he played a song softly in her ears from the mobile. Radha smiled and slowly opened her eyes remembering that was the song Raghav sang when he proposed to her in college for the first time and always sang that to comfort her and make her smile until the first few years of their marriage. She took the mobile from Manu , hugged him and sat in bed with a tear rolling down her cheek.

Manu next went to Raghav he tickled his father's foot while he continued to laugh loudly with excitement. Raghav got up swiftly from bed saying "Radha stop it am up am up". Smiling broadly he said "My sweet cute lil wifey , You never change don't you ?" As he opened his eyes and scanned the room he found little Manu and not Radha. The smile on his face faded and he sat there in deep thought.

Around 10.00 am that morning Priya came home and asked Radha and Raghav to get ready for a surprise from her and Manu. Priya drove the couple to their college campus. She took them to the same tree where the couple had carved out their names on the bark of a tree. Priya and Manu clicked pictures of the couple whilst they attempted to rekindle the spark in their love life. She then drove them to their favourite coffee shop and to the same place Radha and Raghav used to sit for hours and talk. Priya let them be alone and took Manu to the play area.

Radha and Raghav sat in silence for a while reminiscing the lovely old days. Both were not sure who made the first move but in few minutes the held hands to #BringBackTheTouch and they realized what they lost in this mechanical routine of life. With a silent promise to each each other to make life better for them and their son Manu they left home as a happy family.

My Fan Next Door ;-)

'Neighbour's EnvyOwner's Pride' May have been the tagline of Onida but guess what its the same with Hair also 'Owner's Pride, Other LADIES Envy'

Shyla has been my neighbor for two months now. Everyday when I left home she made it a point to take a look at me. I kept telling my husband that one day I would want to ask her what it was that made her peep every time I went out.Seriously I was getting realllyyyy curious

One Friday evening as I watered my plants in the balcony Shyla appeared. The voice inside my head gave a warning 'Oh no... Put the Watering can down and flee'. On the other hand there was this other voice, inside my head again ' Ask her what is her problem '

While I kept deliberating, I heard a hi !

"Hi", I replied

Shyla (smiling broadly) : For long I wanted to talk to you

Me : Yeah what is it ? ( Voice inside my head : I wanted to ask you something too")

Shyla : It's beautiful

Me : err... What ?

Shyla : Your hair . Long , Shiny , fabulous and most of all obedient.

Me : Thank you but Obedient ? I din't get you

Shyla : OK. I can't stop myself and I've got to tell you this. I just can't hold it anymore

Me : huh ( OMG what is it ?)

Shyla : My hair is weird and just wont obey me. It's frizzy and makes me look like Hairy Scary from Casper and the Angels.

Me: ( I took a second off to imagine Hairy Scary )

Shyla : I have tried everything to tame my hair. All the Oils that have been advertised, Long warm water shower with most of my hair going down the drain and Comb what's left on my head. Finally just end up shedding tears.
But look at you. I make it a point to take a look at you when you leave home. I am sorry but am not a stalker. I have even clicked pictures of your lovely hair
(She pulled out her iPad to show me and continued explaining )

Your lovely Beach Curls when you go out in the weekends with your hubby and the streak !

Your Fish tail braid that goes with your Desi look at times

Your puffed up hair style to college daily

and finally your straight hair when you wear business formals to your College

I stand here watching you in envy as you toss your fabulous hair and as the wind plays with it when you are on the motorbike riding away .

She Finally stopped

I stood rooted to the spot letting her words and images of me sink into myself. Then again Shyla spoke just two words very softly :Help Me "

Oh common I said to myself, she has been your fan all this while ( Ok am going overboard but its optimism I say ). On a serious note I needed this help at one point today I was gonna share it with another beautiful lady.

I smiled back at her for the first time, got my mobile and whatsapped her this video:

I watched her eyes widen with joy as she watched the video. She discovered the way to tame her mane, it was simply splendid #DovePlay.

It was my turn to end the conversation

Me : hey lady I appreciate you being so straight forward. Now that you know how to play around with your hair go ahead and start experimenting. None to stop you from doing that and you better whatsapp me my pics :P

She thanked me and an hour later I found her return with the Dove magic kit in her hands.

Am back !

I've been missing from the blog for more than a month .. The Indiblogger rank had slipped from 54 to 37 in the new year. The posts written stayed in the blog for a long time and finally gets posted on IndiBlogger today !

------phewwww-----

So the reason that I've been missing is that I've had a tough time WRITING my first set of postgraduate EXAMS.
Two years of just keyboard and keying had made me so lazy to sit for 3hrs (O_o) and write during an examination. After which I had settled in for a long break , I mean a really longgg break. That is when the home was cleaned, reconnecting with friends took place , some good amount of reading , relaxing and a great amount of creative exploring happened

At the end of my exploration is when I found this MomentCam app on the Google play store and got the husband and me cartooned

Much to his liking , his version of the cartoon has exactly the same hairstyle as his whilst mine has a lil improvised version with fancy beach curls as he wanted.

That's it for now and yeah go ahead and get yourself cartooned too mate J

Adieu 2013 , Welcome 2014

2013 ~ I really don't  know what you were to a whole lot of people in this world, but you've been a complete roller coaster ride for me and am definitely sending you off with a smile!

You changed my relationship status from Single to MARRIED,  took me to Sri Lanka ( my first abroad trip ) and to a couple of other new and wonderful places in Karnataka, you swept me into an amazing new married life in the buzziest locality of Bangalore, you gave me a Honda Activa to ride and made me ride a realllyyyy long distance to and fro from college, you converted me from a Software Engineer to a Student again, all the crazy things  you let me do and finally scared me to death when you put my DAD in the ICU bed and brought him back safe !

More than anything, you introduced me to many other things I dint know I was capable of, and forced me to confront the facts and deal with them. You gave me hours and hours to come to terms with myself..!

I think we made good progress together !

Hello 2014 hope you heard all this .. Remember that you got to treat me Better dear (^_^)
